The mission of the group is to contribute, through research, to the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases in economically and socially disadvantaged populations. Our research builds upon work into the epidemiology, treatment and prevention of chronic diseases in Cameroon. The settings are diversed in rural and urban areas. Our work focuses on diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, epilepsy and asthma in rural and urban populations as target of health transitions.

HoPiT is a multi-disciplinary evolving research group involving social scientists, epidemiologists, public health physicians, clinicians, clinical scientists and biostatisticians.
